Successful fundraising

During the last year we wrote a great number of applications for funding to Charitable Trusts and Foundations and succeeded in raising £7,000.00 from three charitable trusts. Much of this was for a 2 year project to fund a small salary for Roberto (Founder of the School) to help the school with setting up their admin and to begin to raise funds locally for the school.

We will do a further round of applications this autumn and we will launch a sponsorship programme in the next few weeks. Watch this space……..

Pictures of trustees’ visit

What a great welcome we had in June. The children gathered outside the school with their welcome banner. On another of the days we were there the school was holding a family day and the children had prepared dances and poetry. Truly inspiring!

Sonia (The head teacher) had organised a raffle to raise funds: that’s her calling out the number with Monica and our friend, Roberto in the top picture on the right. And others showing her caring attitude to those in her care.

eBay sales reach over £1100

Thanks to all my friends, their friends and my work colleagues for donating good quality clothing to sell on eBay. It included a coat which sold for £82 and a cashmere jumper which sold for £46 and so many other lovely items.

We now pay no eBay fees so 100% of the sale price goes to Talita Kum School Fund. If you would like to donate a percentage of any of your eBay sales our charity is now listed.

If you have any more – please do either sell them on our behalf or we can arrange collection and do the selling for you.
